Pictures below, the most famous college - King's College and you need to pay for the entrance fees if you would like to visit around. The building so grand and gorgeous.
There's a lot of bookshop everywhere and anywhere in Cambridge, lots of of youngsters as well. I can feel that the 'study smell' sooooo Heavy here!! I guess there's might be higher proportion of people have a high level qualification of education and jobs. And the road here not really big, when you are going to cross over the road, please mind the BICYCLES from your left and right. This is because Cambridge has a very large number of cyclists and many of them also prefer cycling than driving.
The first activity when we reached there - PUNTING, for 45minutes. It is a type of boating in which the craft is propelled by pushing against the river bed with a pole. There is nothing more relaxing than being punted along the backs in a chauffeur punt with our pretty, amuse and knowledgeable guide. Along the river, we can see a lot of famous Universities from The Back, some need to pay for the entrance fees if you would like visit around the universities. The buildings here so grand, gorgeous and nice. Just imagine how's your day if you have the chance to study here. There's lots of independent shops around the historic market place, yet there are brand new shopping areas too, with all the high street favourites that you would expect! (:
Punting - famous activity in CambridgeAfter that, we just explore the Cambridge with a map, visited to some of the Colleges, and Museum. We had skipped the Shopping session, loiter around the market and streets, appreciate every single moment in the Cambridge city town. Time is rushing, we are lacking of time to visit around. There's some places which we had visited and it's cant finish to listing out :
University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, this is place which contains comprehensive survey from the origins of mankind to the present rise of literate civilisation. Lots of interesting and fantastic things which you can discover here.
Grasshopper Clock, it is a must-see for every Cambridge visitor. Whether my friends them know about it or not? I'm not sure. Actually i had discovered it accidentally, just because of my classmates them having lunch by the roadside, just right opposite the clock!! What makes this clock so unusual? It is just because of the displays time, it has no hands, never show the digital numerical. Yet instead of the Lights which run rapidly around the clock face and it will be paused to show the correct hour, minute and second.
Fitzwilliam Museum, which is knows as the Art Museum of Cambridge University. For your information, it has been described as 'the finest small museum in Europe' as well!! The building is so grand as you can see from the outside, of course inside as well. There have plenty of collections which ranging from the 14th Centuty to the present day. There are lots of illuminated musical, literary manuscripts, furniture, coins, medals, sculpture, ceramics, etc.
University Museum of Zoology, this is the most interesting place and lots of things to see here. YET, we have not enough of time, just have the precious and limited 10minutes to walked around. It's SATURDAY and closed by 4pm! argghh >,<
